Skyrim

Post by PolySoup on Thu Dec 01, 2011 10:27 pm

Skryim is fun. Modded Skyrim can be more so. On that subject, two items of note.

Item the first: www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1013 - A 4GB loader that works with Steam

Item the second: www.skse.silverlock.org - Skyrim Script Extender (SKSE) is under construction with a barebones release (www.skse.silverlock.org/download/skse_1_02_01.7z). There are already 2 mods that use this release, www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1227 - Container Categorization and www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=1175 - Skill Uncapper.

Hey Dubb! Looks like we can't post links properly until our profiles are 7 days old.
EDIT: Looks like it just doesn't like the "www dot" part

www.bethblog.com/index.php/2011/12/01/skyrim-what-were-working-on/

Creation Kit — Beginning in January, PC players will be able to download the same development tools we used at Bethesda Game Studios to create Skyrim. In tandem with the Creation Kit’s release, we will roll out a new Wiki and videos to help you get started. It also features something we think you’re going to love…

Steam Workshop – We’re excited to share news that we’ve been working closely with Valve to integrate Steam Workshop into the Creation Kit. Using the Workshop, you’ll have free user content with the push of a button. The Creation Kit will bundle your mod and upload it to the Workshop, where everyone can browse, rate, and flag mods for download. You’ll be able to do this from any web device, including your smar

Also the URL and Quote buttons work 'differently', as in not really as good. But to make up for it I can add some stupid emicons drunken confused king elephant lol!

As an added bonus, the SKSE doovy also fixes the magic resistance bug introduced with the 1.2 patch.

I strongly recommend that everyone uses the 4GB loader and SKSE as they have made my game much less crashy and it's nice to have all my elemental resistances working again.

Thought you guys might appreciate this from the Penny Arcade forums:

So I created a character to join the Dark Brotherhood.

At first I thought I'd make a sneaky Khajiit as befits a guild of stealth assassins.

But instead I made a orc who just shows up at people's house and beats them to death with a hammer in broad daylight.

He's having trouble fitting in.

I dunno; some of the Dark Brotherhood members are sort of like that. One of them says something along the lines of: "You could just do what I do: Walk up to the target, introduce yourself, then burn their face off and run like the wind!".

Also; Glitches of Skyrim:

- Most Jarls are good at slouching in their chair, but this guy has mastered the ultra-slouch.
- The infamous naked courier.
- Snow in Blackreach (Blackreach is decidedly underground).

Those are links. Sort of hard to tell, though. Is it possible to make links more visible, David?

Fake edit: Oh, it's not letting me post links yet anyway (so those are not links). Let's try this:

Oh, and I'm still plugging away at my first playthrough. Smile Just hit level 60, and finally got 100 in Smithing plus the Dragon Armour perk. I was able to use some the dragon scales I've been stockpiling the whole game to make a full suit of dragonscale, and improve it to Legendary level. I've got Enchanting maxed out (plus the dual-enchant perk) too, so I just fully enchanted the whole suit too. Haven't had a chance to try it out yet...

I actually had Sneaking maxed out before I even joined the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood. Laughing I've finished the Thieves Guild questline now, and I think I've nearly finished the Dark Brotherhood. Mages College and Companions have been finished for a while. I think I'm a fair way through the main quest too.

Such a big game.

The Dragon Armour smithing perk lets you make Dragon Scale or Dragon Bone Plate; scale is light, bone is heavy.

FYI
From what I've been reading, the armour cap is 600 points. You can easily reach that on light armour if you're a 100 point smith.

Anyone else disappointed in there not being any dragon bone weapons? Or crossbows for that matter...

Yeah, the Dragon Scale suit I mentioned above put me at around 550 points, I think it was. That's with my light armour skill not fully levelled.

As for dragon bone weapons... mods. I think I saw a mod that did exactly that, actually.

Also, I just finished the main quest. Smile There's some great moments in there.
